Kurt Anders, chief operating officer, and Norm Hoffman, regional response manager, presented Sharon Groves with the 2012 Ann Magnussen award, the highest individual honor of nursing achievement in the American Red Cross, at a recent volunteer recognition event.
For nearly four years, Sharon has volunteered as both a health services team member and disaster action team member. She is dedicated to providing calm, thorough and caring help to victims of disaster throughout central Ohio and ensures that the needs of Red Cross clients are met.
In the community, Sharon uses her knowledge and energy to extend the reach of the Red Cross by including information about our services in state and local presentations. She has participated in the cross-training of local medical reserve corps groups, giving them the ability to volunteer alongside the Red Cross. In addition to volunteering with the Red Cross, Sharon is an assistant vice president of risk management at BerkleyMed and a member of the Clintonville Rotary.
Congratulations Sharon and thanks for bringing comfort to all you meet!
If you would like to join Sharon as a Red Cross volunteer, please attend an upcoming information session.
