So… what can I tell you about myself? Well, for starters, I volunteer as much as I can within the Red Cross family as a Disaster Action Leader on the DAT Team. I came to the Red Cross in 2009 after finding it on Nationwide’s internal volunteermatch website and have been hooked ever since. I was drawn to the DAT Team as I’ve experienced a small house fire myself. I’ve never forgotten the compassion I felt when my neighbor brought me a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket as I stood out in front of my house in the dead of winter waiting for the firefighters to tell me what was going on. This feeling of compassion is something I’ve wanted to give back, and I find I’m able to do so with the DAT Team. It’s amazingly rewarding to be able to give someone a glimmer of hope in such a time of need. It definitely makes me honored to be a part of the Red Cross! What else is there to tell you? Well, I grew up in Columbus, left for almost 10 years to attend Kent State and just stayed up there after graduating before moving back “home”. I’m just your typical goofy girl that will do just about anything to make someone laugh or smile. (Just ask anyone who’s been called out with me!) Outside of the Red Cross, you can find me volunteering with multiple organizations and events, spending time with my friends, cheering on the Columbus Blue Jackets at any game I can get my hands on and just living life to its fullest!
